Our Sensing and Control Systems provide new insights and access to what is happening in harsh environments. Technology involves the application of engineering and applied sciences to solve the practical problems of human lives. Students need solid knowledge and understanding in physical, life, and earth and space science if they are to apply science. In addition, the Career Development Center is available to help students explore and commit to a major or career choice.
STCs are encouraged (but not required) to form substantive and long-term partnerships and collaborations with institutions that serve populations of underrepresented students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) (such as minority serving institutions, women’s colleges, or institutions that serve students with disabilities).
Less formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of study or the knowledge gained from it. The Office of Polar Programs (OPP) strongly encourages STC proposals related to all aspects of polar research supported by the Foundation. Most of the technical knowledge used in the designing and development of tools and techniques is actually an outcome of ‘engineering science’.
We constantly adapt each program based on the latest needs of employers, and the latest tools and technologies our students need for success. In short science has changed, improved, enhanced, modified and refined human life in all ways. New fields such as information technology and genetic engineering force courts to decide how to apply laws made before such technologies were contemplated.

Applied Science & Technology Source Ultimate provides STEM students and researchers with the resources they need to succeed. An immersive experience, the program is designed to broaden fellows’ appreciation of employment opportunities outside academia and leave them with both a firm grasp of the important and dynamic role of science and technology in decision-making and a better understanding of the role that they can play in strengthening the science and technology enterprise for the betterment of mankind.
Additionally, students have opportunities for hands-on teaching experience through the UHD Noyce Mathematics and Science Teacher Scholarship Programs, participation in international summer research, and the Scholars Academy. Science has adequately, energetically and productively advanced, changed, civilized, enhanced and progressed human life.
It is to this purpose that the Scientific and Technological Directive in National Economic Reform initiate the further development and deployment of Internet energy systems across the country. The STC Program complements the Engineering Research Centers (ERCs), the Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers (MRSECs), Centers of Chemical Innovation (CCIs) and other NSF programs that support group research and education activities.

Under strict rules, limited resources, and the guidance of volunteer mentors including engineers, teachers, business professionals, parents, alumni and more, teams of 25+ students have just six weeks to build and program robots to perform challenging tasks against a field of competitors.
Centers offer the science and engineering community a venue for developing effective mechanisms to integrate scientific and technological research and education activities; to explore better and more effective ways to educate students; to broaden participation of underrepresented groups; and to ensure the timely transfer of research and education advances made in service to society.

The holdings of the Dibner Library are strong in a large number of areas, particularly Ancient and Renaissance Engineering (Vitruvius, Valturius, Ramelli and other “theaters of instruments,” and Fontana), Transportation Engineering (including works on steam engines, railroads, and roads), Civil Engineering (with classic works on hydraulics, bridges, and tunnels), Electrical Engineering (especially telegraphy, telephony, and radio), Industrial Engineering (works on technological processes developed by and for industry), and Scientific Instruments (from the development of the earliest optical and mathematical instruments to the more elaborate devices of the 19th century).
As part of our ongoing improvement efforts, we conduct a systematic peer review process at our regional science centers and national Office of Science and Technology to improve integration, identify best practices, and share successes and challenges within our science enterprise.

The College of Science and Technology (CoST) is the intellectual and academic core of STEM education, research, and discovery at North Carolina A&T State University.
All NSF proposals are evaluated through use of the two National Science Board approved merit review criteria. But, the resolve to use the technologies that we have and develop more for the betterment of all of mankind is predicated by the implementation of National Economic Reform’s Science and Technology Directive.
The strategy also includes a proposal for the appointment of a chief technology officer, who would advocate for science and technology and will help implement the long-range strategy.
