Ellycrack A/S

The "Viscositor" technology being developed by Ellycrack A/S in conjunction with Wescorp Energy will help enhance heavy oil recovery and production anywhere in the world. This new technology will upgrade heavy oil with 40 percent less cost than conventional coking technology.

The problem facing unconventional oil producers is that approximately two-thirds of the world's petroleum reserves consist of heavy oil to viscous to be pumped through conventional pipelines. Current options are to change the process by investing large capital funds in infrastructure changes; continue to use the Diluent (very light hydrocarbons or condensate) process that enables lighter oil to blend with heavier oil and then be transported through the pipeline systems. Another alternative is to create large upgraders "Coking or Cracking" processes that require stringent governmental approvals, high capital dollar and ongoing operational and energy expenditures.

It's a know fact upgrading heavy oil consumes high levels of energy and high levels of fresh water. Currently, on average, it takes four barrels of water to produce one barrel of oil, while producing high amounts of greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions.

For years oil producers are trying to find economic ways to upgrade the oil in a cost effective manner while taking in consideration of the environmental impact.

Our Viscositor process uses a patented heavy oil upgrading thermodynamic process for cracking heavy oils in a fluidized reactor. This process makes it possible for on-site upgrading at the wellhead or pump station or production facilities The Viscositor process is energy self-sufficient, by converting the coke formed from the cracking process into energy.

We anticipate scaling the Viscositor process from 200 to 10,000 BBLS per day. Through past Viscositor demonstrations (API) test results are showing initial improvements on average from 10.9 API to 22.3 API.
