Educational Technology Research That Makes A Difference

Technology Research
The Educational Technology, Research, and Assessment (ETRA) Department, a dynamic and collaborative community of scholars, is dedicated to responsible research and reflective practice to promote innovative learning environments and improved learning outcomes for all learners. The Technology, Research, and Development Center (TREND) is an initiative of the Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC). It supports a variety of nanoscience and technology oriented projects that make use of its state-of-the-art equipment. Educational Communications and Technology Journal, 33(4), 249-262.

Technologies included within the scope of the assigned RT&E projects include community-based offender monitoring systems and related geospatial tools, video analytics applications, the National Public Safety Broadband Network (FirstNet), advanced radio systems and gateways, datacasting applications for law enforcement, and technologies being applied to prevent and respond to criminal acts of violence in K-12 schools in the U.S and other countries.

While significance is a subjective criterion, it seems especially important in technology research that would-be researchers recognize what makes a study significant enough to undertake in today’s educational climate. When something new and “better” is revealed, the “older” technology becomes more affordable, allowing it to be used in educational settings, even when schools are on a tight budget.

We in the field of educational technology have a clear and imminent challenge. Colleges and universities use these findings to better engage students in the learning process, improve IT services, plan for technology shifts that impact students, and become more technologically competitive among peer institutions.

One of the most often asked questions in the contemporary world is ‘What is the meaning of science and technology?’ Man is innovative in nature. Our research methodologies and insights help you navigate technology’s ever-evolving impact on business. The SO-COOL facility also serves as joint space used for education and outreach, with the data streams accessible for a variety of learning experiences for K-12 students and teachers.

Cooperation with domestic and foreign scientific organizations in high level science-technology training of human resources to meet the regional demand. Projects focused on proof-of-principle studies, without preliminary data, should be submitted under the Exploratory Research for Technology Development program (see below).

Shimadzu is involved in researching and developing fluid control devices, separation and detection devices, and high-performance analytical systems based on such devices, that enable sampling or analyzing very small quantities of samples using MEMS technology based on semiconductor processing technology.

The Literacy, Language & Technology Research Group (LLTR) is a community of faculty, staff and graduate students working together on a closely related set of grant-funded projects. For Resubmissions, the committee will evaluate the application as now presented, taking into consideration the responses to comments from the previous scientific review group and changes made to the project. Because this is early stage technology development, the impact need not be immediate.

Although studies that employ experimental or qualitative approaches, as well as mixed-methods ones (Chatterji, 2004), can help researchers understand the effects of technology on student learning, an article reporting technology research should have a methods section that shows … Read More..

Journalists may be told that teachers need to focus on skills because that’s what students are tested on. The reading passages on standardized tests don’t match up with the content students are learning—assuming they’re learning content at all—-so it looks like what is being assessed are kids’ general abilities to find the main idea” or make inferences.” In fact, if students lack the knowledge and vocabulary to understand the passages in the first place—as many do—they won’t have a chance to demonstrate any skills.” But it can be hard for teachers to absorb that message, especially when their job ratings and those of their schools are tied to test scores.
