Edited by Dr. Leigh Winfrey, Fusion Science and Technology (FST) is the leading source of information on fusion plasma physics and plasma engineering, fusion plasma enabling science and technology, fusion nuclear technology and material science, fusion applications, fusion design and system studies. The core budget for the Center is expected to include support for all research, education, broadening participation, and knowledge transfer activities including, if proposed, those for undergraduate students and for teachers. Technology generally is the application of scientific knowledge to solve man’s problems.
Feng Jiao, an associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering and associate director of the Center for Catalytic Science and Technology at UD, in his lab. The Foundation also supports cooperative research between universities and industry, US participation in international scientific and engineering efforts, and educational activities at every academic level.
Staff also provide vital training and year-round support for CCST Science Fellows serving in the Capitol – enabling them to deliver the critical non-partisan technical analysis that state legislators need to drive scientifically sound policies forward.
The development in the field of technology paves way for research and development in the field of Science. The education goals of an STC may address the needs of students participating in the Center’s research activities or students in broader fields of research represented by the STC activities.
Our Sensing and Control Systems provide new insights and access to what is happening in harsh environments. Biographical Sketches are required for the Center Director and all faculty and staff members whose research, education, knowledge transfer, or broadening participation activities will be supported by the Center. Environmental technology is the application of environmental science and sustainable development, for the purpose of environmental conservation, by curbing negative impacts of human-environment interaction, and protecting the natural environment.
The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program, now in its 20th year, provides early career individuals with the opportunity to spend 12 weeks at the Academies in Washington, DC learning about science and technology policy and the role that scientists and engineers play in advising the nation.
Past members of STCs may participate in this open competition only if the proposed research and education topics or themes are substantially different from those they pursued with prior NSF Center support. Funds allocated for research, education, broadening participation, and knowledge transfer areas must be discernible.
We live in a highly sophisticated world where everything is almost achievable. 4b. Center Plan – Provide an overview of your research plan, in the context of national and global landscapes of relevant scientific fields, with sufficient detail to allow the assessment of the scientific merit and to justify the necessity for the center mode of operation.
Less formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of study or the knowledge gained from it. The Office of Polar Programs (OPP) strongly encourages STC proposals related to all aspects of polar research supported by the Foundation. … Read More..
